Dieting – How To Diet Properly With The Changing Of Seasons

There are a few things you should know that affect your weight loss and dieting, that you probably haven’t realized.

Every season brings a new mood. In Spring, we embrace the fresh burst of energy from the sun, feeling ever so uplifted and lively. In Summer is the hottest of the seasons, and best of all it’s vacation for students! In Autumn, things start getting chilly and a little sad. In Winter, it’s a sheet of ice. No doubt, our mood affects our dieting habits, which can be quite dangerous for everyone – be it those who are trying to shave off those extra pounds, or those who are trying to just stay
themselves.

How do we diet with the changing of seasons?

Let us start with the most damaging season – Winter. The absence of sunlight could be rather depressing. We spend hours in the seemingly never-ending darkness before being greeted by the first ray of light. Quickly the light fades back into darkness, and the wait begins again. These conditions cause us to become depressed and lifeless, spending more time sleeping and eating more food. Worse still, we tend to seek out sinful food rather than sticking to our salads.

This change is often termed as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), or simply just the winter blues. This can result in unintended weight gain. A combination of less exercise (due to the harsh weather) and increasing eating habits is the perfect recipe for that terrible weight gain.

We can solve this by first recognizing the problem. If you find yourself gaining weight when the sun is away (not necessarily exclusive to winter), you’ve probably got the winter blues. What you can do is to plan a defensive diet and a regular exercise regime despite the harsh weather, and execute it just before winter settles in. Alternatively, you can make a trip down to warmer countries for a vacation.

Springing Into Exercise

Spring is where everything jumps back to life. Suddenly you just feel like getting out there to exercise, not because you have to but because you want to. Diet seems to be under control now. However, we must beware to watch our calories in Spring! The sudden burst of energy would mean our bodies crave to take in more carbs. This weakness can be damaging to our diets. Embrace Spring as the season to get back on track and have fun! Don’t forget the all important rules of How-To-Diet.

Always remember to diet in moderation.

Fun in the Sun!

Summer is about the beach and the heat. This is the season where many start to get very cautious over weight loss – after all, you want to be your best in that birthday suit. This is where things can get messy. If you decide you’re going on a strict diet to lose pounds quickly, you could end up achieving the opposite effect. Your body tends to store more of what you take in, in case you really do end up in starving for real. Instead choose eating many small meals a day. This keeps your metabolism in high gear.

A Little Cold To Be Exercising?

Autumn is when the weather starts turning cold. To work yourself through Autumn, stick to warmer foods like soups. Sudden weather changes are not uncommon. If you do swing into the winter blues, play up your defensive diet.

Now begins the wait for Spring once again.

If you recognize how the different seasons affect your weight loss you will be on the right track on knowing how to diet the right way.

Weight Loss-What Works For Men And What Works For Women

Did you think you could do the same things and get the same results?

Starting a new diet regime and heading to the gym with your significant other may seem like the best motivation to shed those unwanted pounds off, but put your red alert hat on!

As what works for men may not necessarily work for the women! Let’s explore the common dieting and exercising regimes.

Dieting:

Why do we often hear women suffering from severe eating disorders and lesser from the men? Why do men shed those unwanted pounds off just by taking a meal less while women go the extreme, but the scale just does not tip the way they want it to ? Simply putting it, “men love their meat but women are attached to their carbohydrates” as some professionals have stated. However, going the extreme of eliminating either (the meat-the carbs) does not aid in healthy weight loss at all.

Going Healthy On Your Diet

In fact, what works for both men and women is the very simple act of going healthy. For starters, healthy breakfast that incorporates a good balance of protein, carbohydrates, fats and vitamins starts the day right for everyone. By acquiring a good wealth of knowledge that weight gain is due to the amount of calories taken and not by the type of nutrients (be in proteins, fats, carbohydrates), both men and women can enjoy their healthy diet while enjoying their favorite portions of food. Try sharing your lean meat and wholemeal bread with your partner so as to ease out the amount of either carbohydrates or protein fats absorbed.

Exercising: Burns Fat-Increase The Lean Muscle Mass

While men and women are in a way pretty much built the same, men have larger and more muscles than women due to the hormone testosterone. However, this does not mean that men and women must do separate types of exercises in order to achieve their desired weight loss. Given that, the same set of exercise must be performed at different intensity for men and women. Men usually respond better with more sets and less repetition and vice versa for the women.

This is because men and women’s body respond differently to the intensity of the exercise. With men’s generally stronger body mass, it is easier for them to shed the fats and tone up with more sets completed. In addition, the same set of exercise can be performed in a variety of ways as women and men target different focuses during a weight loss regime.

The fats are usually accumulated around the middle section for the men and the lower belt of the women and thus the focus of the exercise should be targeted at each respective regions per say.

How Do Those Crunches Affect Men And Women

For example, the crunches exercise- Men can perform the oblique crunches while women can try out the lower ab crunches that targets different areas while performing the same type of exercise in a varied form. Trying to lift weights with your partner in the gym? Men pump themselves with heavier weights but women should pump with lighter weights over a longer period of time repetitively in order to achieve what they desire.

So why trouble about heading to the male or female gym separately and head down to the same gym together and work it out after a healthy share of breakfast!

Now Men And Women Do What You Need To Do To Lose Weight Even If It Is Different.

How To Be Sexy And Over Weight Like A Celebrity

Plump But Sexy Female Celebrity

sexy celebrity pics

If these women succumbed to societies thoughts, they would not be famous over weight people, but over weight people hiding out and relinquishing their right to a happy life.

It’s all in what you perceive. You must agree these beautiful and sexy female celebrities would be considered, by our mixed up society perceptions, to be over weight. None-the-less as you can see, they are extremely beautiful and pleasing to the eye. One should never be too hard on themselves when they are a little over weight. If your weight begins to compromise your health and activities, then it is time for you to be hard on yourself and get in shape.

Merely going by some of the twisted mentalities of our society leads to extreme measures such as anorexia, bulimia, undue mental stress and a host of other problems.

How society perceives Fat people vs how they perceive Skinny people.

I can still remember the times when I was in primary school. Those who were overweight were quick to be labeled. Classmates relentlessly made fun of them, and kept calling them names. They hardly had any friends as their stereotypes keep people away.

It seems the moment one begins interacting socially, he is exposed to the harshness of society. They are, more often than not, being cruelly made fun of. They become the subject of synonyms or comparisons. When was the last time anyone heard jokes like “this car’s engine is so weak it can hardly move Jason!” or “this chair is so strong even Peter cannot break it!”? Even films from Hollywood like the Devil wears Prada has emphasis on fitting into small dress sizes, or get quickly cast aside as a ‘nobody’.

It’s a known sad fact that society isn’t kind to Fat people. They are often discriminated. They are often associated with unconstrained eating habits, the lack of exercise and fast food. The impact is so widespread today that slimming centers are always popular and their expansion seemingly incessant, and pills which control diet or help with weight loss are found almost everywhere and are a billion dollar industry.

Hidden Fat People With Amazing Talents

Does anyone know about the Korean Film 200 Pound Beauty, where an aspiring singer was unable to pursue her dreams despite her beautiful voice because she was obese? She always remained a lip-syncing singer behind the curtains. Despite her talent, she was constantly humiliated at functions and dinners for her size. Lost and desperate for change, she begged a plastic surgeon to change her looks. After a tedious regime, she was transformed to perfection, and took flight from there.

Society Loves Skinny People

Society seems to have a certain expectation of what people should look like. One doesn’t have to be obese to fall under such a classification – one just has to be a notch above the human expectation, a few pounds over weight.

Thin Is In I Scream

The ideal human anatomy today is to be thin.

To be skinny seems to be the trend. Models, which represent the ideal being society accepts, are all skinny. Miss World contestants are all skinny, or at least even if there are sizable ones they do not last long in the arena. Slimming centers are a testament to this trend. Not only do they help those who are overweight, they now introduce schemes to help those who feel uneasy with their weight or feel rejected by society.

Women are not the only ones concerned with this. Slimming centers for men are growing in popularity as well. Overweight problems alone in Singapore could not account for the spread of these slimming centers.

There is also an increasing figure in the number of teenage anorexia cases. Teenagers, especially girls, are starving themselves. Their aim is to reach the acceptable size so they can be accepted by their peers.

Is Perfection Being Super Skinny

Today, Society is so entrenched in the idea of ‘perfection’ that people are suffering through starvation and dumping hard-earned money into slimming programs and pills just to be accepted. Those who are Fat are labeled and discriminated relentlessly.

This is the sad reality we are faced with today.

Sexiness is in the perception as our picture of Plump but Sexy Female Celebrities demonstrates.

1. Everyone is different, so are you
Start by recognizing that everybody is different. By comparing with others, you could end up discouraging yourself.

2. Sleep – The luxury you can afford.
Many people underestimate sleep. To burn fats more efficiently, you need at least eight hours of sleep. Sleeping less will not help burn more fats. Your body needs rest. Sleep is something you just cannot do without.

3. 80% Full is good for You
Do you know why the Japanese off the shore of Mainland Japan are bestowed with good health and longevity? The secret is Hara hachi bu. It is cultural habits of eating till you’re 80% full. Our stomachs generally take a longer time to send signals to our brain to tell us we’re full, so eating to your heart’s content is usually overeating.

4. Taking small meals isn’t a myth!
If you’ve heard of this somewhere before, that source is reliable. Snacks in between meals would prevent you from gobbling up your next meal. Calories taken in during larger meals tend to get stored as fat.

5. Take your time, Chew and digest!
Our brain takes time to recognize we’ve just had about enough food. A good way to consume your food is to take your time to chew it and eat it. That’ll give your brain time to recognize that you are full. It also helps reduce digestion problems since chewing longer would help in the process of breaking down food.

6. The King, Queen and Peasant.
Eat like a King at breakfast. Eat like a Queen at lunch. Eat like a Peasant at dinner. Unless you’re going to need that much energy doing night strenuous activities, please stick to the peasant’s diet at night. Studies have shown eating at night will cause you to gain weight – The later the worse.

7. A spoonful of sugar…
A spoonful of sugar or a tiny snack 20 minutes before your next meal would prevent you from overeating. This has to do with the long time taken for the brain to process hunger.

8. Abstain from Soft Drinks
This is a simple advice, but by simply stick to a water-only diet can significantly reduce the amount of calorie intake. One can of coke requires 12 minutes of jogging to lose it. How many cans do you drink?

9. Find a companion
Losing weight alone is not easy. You will easily fall prey to temptation. Studies have shown that losing weight with a companion is more effective than doing it alone. Instead of deciding that you can always exercise tomorrow, you can have your companion nag you out of bed today.

10. But, the next stop is where I should get off!
Getting off one stop earlier to walk is an innovative way to burn some calories without spending an entire hour out to exercise. If you find that you have insufficient time to exercise, try getting off a stop earlier to walk home or taking the stairs more often than the lift.

11. Household Chores
Participate in the cleaning of the house. Fire the maid, save more than $500 every month, and stay trim. Sounds like a good deal?

Same goes with losing weight. Going on a diet doesn’t mean you steer clear of your old foods. The key is to eat in moderation.

14. Play games
Everything is possible with the Nintendo Wii. You could play the Wii Fit, Wii Tennis or other interactive games that get you to lose those calories. Sure on-line research has proved that these games do not lose as much calories as the real activity itself, but hey, what’s better than losing weight and having fun at the same time?

15. Buy a weighing machine
This would constantly update you on your progress. Don’t think that you should go on a diet and weigh yourself after a month to give yourself a pleasant surprise. Chances are, you’re in for a rude shock. Updating yourself will tell you whether you need to do more, or do less.

16. Set realistic goals
You will not lose 20 kilos in a month. Give yourself a realistic target according to your lifestyle. Unrealistic targets will only discourage you.

17. Drastic changes are bad
If you decide to suddenly reduce your food intake whilst continuing your exercise regime, chances are, you’re going to end up taking in more than what you did before. This is because
your body thinks you’ve come across problems getting food – better store more food for the rainy days!

18. Know yourself
Find out why you tend to overeat. Sometimes people overeat due to emotions like sadness. So the next time you’re depressed, you consciously know what to avoid.

19. Hearty Fibres
Do not just stick with meat. Having a larger serving of vegetables instead. They are full of fibres and they fill your stomach fast. They are low in calories, full of vitamins, and give you an easier time in the toilet.

21. Come up with an exercise regime
As much as this nagging advice seems to appear everywhere, it is the most important way to stay healthy and to keep trim. Our busy and stressful lifestyle here makes it hard to fit time in. Plan out a time-table for exercise and adhere to it.

22. Choose your exercise
Some exercises, like cycling, are more effective than jogging. Cyclist tend to burn more calories as not only are their legs moving, but their entire body is working to keep balance. 23. Play physical games
Join your neighbourhood soccer team. Play basketball with your old classmates. Follow your dad to a game of badminton. Physical games keep you healthy while having fun. While you are focused in the midst of the game, you tend to exert yourself more.

24. Do not just stick to dieting alone
Despite the fact that muscles weight more than fats, you wouldn’t want to be burning them first! If you’re not going to exercise, your body will burn muscles instead. So don’t forget to include exercise somewhere in that schedule.

25. Strive for a balanced lifestyle
All else being said and done, one should strive for a balanced lifestyle. Losing weight should not be your main priority. If you have enough sleep, eat in moderation, avoid too much sugar, you will find yourself naturally losing weight
