Stay away from popular fad diets because dieting is a lifestyle change. Diet fads get you in trouble and mislead you even if you see weight loss in a day.

Eat Fast Food and Stay on Your Diet

It seems impossible to be on a diet and eat fast food, but you actually can! Most fast food restaurants have at least one option for those trying to eat healthy and sometimes there are several options. You just have to know how to order and what to look out for in order to eat healthy at a fast food restaurant.

Tips for Ordering

Tip #1 Know What You Will Order
Before you ever go decide on what you will order. This will help you stay strong and avoid the bad food even when the fries smell so good! Remember, too, that you can order a kid’s meal and have smaller portions of the foods you love. So eat your burgers but avoid the double double fat burgers with cheese or get one and ease up on the rest of the food you eat that day.

Add Color-Eat The Rainbow

You need to eat some vegetables or fruit with your meal, however most combos come with French fries and they are really bad. If you need something more then add a small side salad with light dressing or a bowl of fruit. Most fast food restaurants have both of these on their menu now so you should be able to fill up while eating healthy.

Say “No” to Mayo

If you want to save some major calories and fat grams then skip the mayo. It may be good, but it is not good for you. Just ask for your sandwich with no mayo or choose other condiments like mustard or barbeque sauce to add flavor without adding fat and calories.

Know Your Nutrition

Most fast food restaurants have the nutrition information for their food online. This means you can check out the nutrition value for the foods you love on their website. Find out what you can eat and what you can’t. You will likely be surprised that some things like salads have more fat in them than some cheeseburgers. Once you know what you can eat then you will be able to eat healthier fast food.

Salads and Dressing

Believe it or not but a salad with a full package of dressing can come close to 50 grams of fat! Not all of them are this way, but many are so it is important to pay attention to what the salad has in it. Always choose low fat dressing and only use half.

What are These

These are just a few tips to help you cut the fat and calories while you eat fasts food. Keep in mind that while you are on a diet you can still eat fast food, you just have to know how. Generally, the best options are a grilled chicken sandwich with honey mustard and plenty of veggies.
