Hypoglycemia-When Your Blood Sugar Is Low

One of the biggest risks is hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar. When you workout your body is more sensitive to insulin. This means that your blood sugar may drop too low when exercising if you are unaware of how to manage it.

When your diabetes becomes out of control it could result in kidney failure, cause blindness, you could up needing an amputation of afflicted areas, it could result in heart disease, cause nerve damage and many more complications.

Diabetes can deteriorate you over a long period of time and lead to death. Some people still do not realize the seriousness of this disease and the risks to your health.

Your doctor can help you plan for exercise and using it to replace some of your insulin. Your doctor will also let you know what your blood sugar should be before you begin exercising as well as after.

If you feel like you are getting hungry, shaky, or your heartbeat is increasing rapidly while you are exercising then your blood sugar may be getting too low.

In this situation, you will probably need to stop exercising and eat a piece of candy or drink some juice to help raise your blood sugar.

Your doctor will tell you what you should do in this situation and how to identify it.

REMEMBER DO NOT RISK HYPOGLYCEMIA WHEN YOU EXERCISE AND TAKE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS.

Despite the risks it is important to exercise. You just have to make sure to do the right ones and your doctor can help you with your questions.

Your most important goals are to stabilize your blood sugar and eliminate the symptoms of high blood sugar.

Your main goals are to lead a normal long life, ease your symptoms, and to avoid complications such as heart disease and/or kidney failure.
