So, if you are interested in losing weight and getting into shape then consider the goal of taking 10,000 steps every day.
You are probably wondering how you could possibly count every step you take. Fortunately, you don’t have to because there is a little electronic device called a pedometer that will do it for you!
A pedometer is usually smaller than a pager and it will fit right onto your pants, belt, or pocket. It will keep track of every single step you take during the day. There are some that will also count calories and distance traveled while others are simple and just track steps.
The point is to make sure you work yourself up to 10,000 steps a day. It’s really easy because if you see that by lunchtime you have only taken 2,000 steps you know to really push yourself the rest of the day.
If you take into account that 10,000 steps per day is close to 5 miles, you may be shocked and believe you can never do that every single day! However, you really can! You just have to get moving and focus on being active.
When you are moving this much every day and making healthy food choices you will lose weight and get fit. That is what your overall goal is anyway, so get started.
Wear a pedometer to see how much you are walking every day and then add 500 steps each and every day until you reach 10,000. Take it slowly if you need to, just focus on getting there. You can do it and you will get healthy, not to mention quite skinny.
