Types of Weight Loss Programs

If you have decided to go on a weight loss program to help you jumpstart your weight loss then you may be wondering which program is the right one for you. There are literally hundreds of diets out there and you can choose any one you think you will stick with. The following weight loss programs are some of the more popular programs you might want to try.

South Beach

The South Beach diet is a heart healthy diet. This diet has three stages with the first one being low fat/low carb. This phase lasts two weeks and you will lose between eight and 13 pounds. Then, in stage two you can start adding more vegetables to your diet as well as some fruit. This will allow you more food to eat and you will be able to lose a pound or two per week. Then, when you reach your goal weight you will be able to eat even more foods in order to help you maintain your new weight.

Atkins

The Atkins diet is a no carb diet. You will eat all the cheese, meat, eggs, and the like you want on this diet. If you want to eat five double cheeseburger with no buns then that is acceptable on this diet. The problem is that you can’t live like this forever because your body goes into ketosis. A modified version of the Atkins is a great way to diet ad lose weight quickly. There are several types of Atkins diets to explore, e.g. The Atkins Grapefruit Diet. If you like Grapefruit then this diet from Atkins will serve you well.

The Zone

Another popular diet is The Zone. Many celebrities have done this diet and think it is great. This diet is about balancing your hormones so that you are not hungry despite eating fewer calories. This diet is described as a moderate protein, moderate carbohydrate, moderate fat, diet. The ratio is one gram of fat to two grams of protein to three grams of carbohydrates. This manages type II diabetes and obesity.

Jenny Craig

You have undoubtedly seen advertisements for Jenny Craig on TV. This is a very popular diet method because it provides a plan for body, mind, and food. By addressing these three areas people are able to effectively lose weight. This diet teaches you healthy eating habits and portion control. The diet also recommends an active lifestyle and supports you to gradually increase your activity level. A personal consultant will help you stay motivated and continue on your diet long term.

There are many other diets out there that you may want to try, however you will find success with any of the diets listed here. Just compare the different diet plans to find the one that will work best for you.

Very informative weight loss article now if I can do what they say and stop procrastinating-but I’m getting inspired!
